For the first time at the Special Olympics Canada National Summer Games, there will be an all-female soccer division—and Team Nova Scotia is proud to be part of this historic moment.
Our female soccer team brings together athletes across the province. After months of connecting virtually, the team recently came together in person for their first training camp. The weekend was filled with team-building activities, skill development, and plenty of opportunities to get to know one another both on and off the field.
When asked how the training camp went Assistant Coach Ceilidh Wright said "The girls played against the Pictou boys team and while they lost 1-0, they played really well given it was their first time playing together, a tenacious crew with a solid foundation. We are so excited to see them improve and grow as a team. They are such a wonderful group. They are so supportive and encouraging of each other, it's such a great attitude to see from the start."
